Last weekend we had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session with Monica and Adam in Toronto’s historic Distillery District. When we’re planning an outdoor shoot we always recommend choosing a date then keeping the next day open in case we have to reschedule due to rain. In this case it was the other way around. Monica texted us the day before and asked if we could do the shoot then as the forecast was calling for rainy weather to settle into Toronto over the next few days. As it turned out our gear was already packed and so were we because we had planned on making a weekend of it as part of Eve’s birthday.
The Distillery District is such a fabulous place to shoot, full of old world charm, the textures of brick and cobblestone, alleyways and corners for romantic shots, and a little bit of history everywhere you look. With restaurants and pubs, their flower festooned patios teeming with with friends meeting for dinner or drinks, it makes a great backdrop to begin telling a love story. Of course having such a great looking couple that were so easy to work with helps too. Monica and Adam may be from small town Ontario but they call Toronto home now, a place where they both work and play together.
In the end we were treated to great light, a fun evening chatting with new friends, and a chance to explore some of Toronto’s history. Thanks Monica and Adam for inviting us along and we can hardly wait for your wedding next fall. Enjoy the pictures!
P.S. – We had so much fun, we went back the next night for dinner at the Mill Street Brew Pub – had to try a flight of their fantastic beers!
These photos are great! Thank you so much for coming to meet us in Toronto and working around the weather and our schedule. We are looking forward to working with you again at the wedding!
